We’re happy to announce Bonsave is now fully available in Canada! You can connect Canadian banks and investment accounts, and your balances, transactions, and holdings sync in Canadian dollars, in exactly the same way it works in the US.
Why Canada, eh?
We’ve received a few requests recently about supporting Canadian accounts, so it became a clear next step.
It also helps that I personally have a connection to Canada. I have a family friend who owns some property in the French River area of Ontario, and I’ve spent some great time there over the years. I’ve always found the Canadian people to be incredibly friendly and welcoming, and so extending that same friendliness and support through Bonsave felt like a natural fit.
What works
Everything. Connect a Canadian bank and transactions and balances sync. Connect a Canadian brokerage and your holdings and their value over time will sync properly. Net worth, spending analysis, budgets, the daily insight, and chat with Bonnie all work in Canadian dollars without any additional work from our users. (Coverage of a specific institution depends on whether Plaid supports it, the same caveat that currently applies in the US.)
Elsewhere, and what’s next
If you’re outside the US and Canada, you can still track everything manually: add accounts, update their values, and net worth and history build from there. That said, support for additional countries is on our roadmap. The next step could be “across the pond” as they say.
If you’re in Canada, connect your accounts and track your full net worth over time. New users get 14 days free.
